Quiz: what do indie heroes The Afghan Whigs, hype hopper Russ and electronic whiz kid Mura Masa have in common? All three have new albums coming up soon and even better: they are ready to shine at Pukkelpop this summer.
The Afghan Whigs – expected in Kiewit for the fourth time! – release 'In Spades' on May 5th. On the same day Russ's 'There's really a wolf' hits the shelves. And Mura Masa's debut is expected on July 14th.
A notable addition to our line-up is A Blaze Of Feather – the band that everybody's talking about. Ben Howard is a prominent member and musically the band is strongly influenced by the dreamlike solo work of this British singer-songwriter.
They're in the fine company of Boef, Clark, Delta Heavy feat. MC ID, Eden, Hannah Faith, Jauz and Lemaitre.
Add to this a cool list of Belgian live toppers such as The Van Jets, Steak Number Eight, Vuurwerk, Emma Bale and Nordmann, and DJs such as Doctrine, Faisal, Jensen & Red D, Kiani & His Legion, Konna, Michael Midnight, Nadiem Shah and TLP.
Less good news from the camp of Chance The Rapper who had to cancel his entire European tour, including Pukkelpop:
“It is with regret that Chance The Rapper has to cancel his upcoming performance at Pukkelpop and his European festival tour in August. This is due to scheduling conflicts beyond his control. Chance sends his apologies to his fans and looks forward to returning to Europe soon.”
Don't worry, we're already taking care of a worthy replacement. Stay tuned!
