Biography
The soundtrack to a generation, a household name, a worldwide phenomenon. It’s hard to characterise The xx in just a few words and without using superlatives it’s a lost cause. Despite the global hysteria surrounding the band, the three childhood friends are still the same: The xx, with small x’s. All the more reason to hug them to death! After ‘xx’ (2009) and ‘Coexist’ (2012), their third full-length ‘I See You’ combines their trademark intimacy with club samples from Jamie xx’s record collection. Somehow the resulting grandeur feels entirely personal and familiar, with a tad more bass and beats. As if you weren’t trembling on your feet already.
